You’ve waited patiently and here they are !
After a week and a half of visits and votes, it is time to present the results of the 17th edition of Housing Week in Middle-Earth!
Again I would like to thank all of the participants for this competition. Whether you were chosen for the final round or not, I hope you decide to participate again in future contests.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my wonderful members of the jury who have accompanied me for this contest, again ! :).

Votes
I gathered all the data and there were a total of 67 votes in the ballot box. Congratulations and thank you again !
As a reminder, the final score for each house is obtained by the average weighted score of the public (60%) and the jury (40%). Scenario, alone, designates the winner of Scenario's Choice.
The results
Top 3
#3 - Elrandor
Audience average: 7.061 - Jury average: 8 - Final score: 7.44
Khelsi:
"When you arrive, you're no longer in Lyndelby: you're transported to Isengard. The atmosphere is very well-done, the theme is on-point."
Edward:
"You can't recognize the place anymore! The staging is successful, as is the exterior architecture. It all works well."
Kaels:
"The entrance to the garden sets the tone, and if you take the time to light on the pyres, the atmosphere created is brilliant. I'm looking forward to seeing you on Halloween!"
#2 - Wilwerin
Audience average: 7.016 - Jury average: 8.5 - Final score: 7.61
Kaels:
"My favorite of this edition!
A garden that's already very interesting, with decorations that are familiar but cleverly enhanced?
Inside, the colors, textures and lighting effects are really well crafted and add a real plus to the space.
Each room has its own well-defined and tastefully realized universe! Well done!"
Khelsi:
"Entering the gardens feels like a magical experience, that continues inside the house. The colours are beautiful and the lights are very cleverly used. The several rooms with different atmospheres are greatly done, each in their own style. I also liked using the side stairs down to the almost secret field. When can I move in?"
Yao:
"Not always easy to decorate those Erebor houses, but you did it! You managed to create yards that feels alive, and each area inside has its own atmosphere. I loved it!"
#1 - Sylhouette
Audience average: 7.587 - Jury average: 8 - Final score: 7.75
Yao:
"This is the house I want when we'll have a Umbar housing homestead! I loved it from the moment I entered the yard, and wanted to stay there forever. Do you have an extra room for my chars?"
Kaels:
"The recurring theme of fountains and water features is well executed, and the creative use of different greenhouses to redefine the spaces is a fantastic accomplishment. Very inspiring!"
Edward:
"It's breathtaking! The garden is a masterpiece, and the interior is no less enchanting. The greenhouse, seamlessly integrated into the architecture, gives the place a unique charm."
I extend my congratulations to the winners of the 17th Housing Week in Middle Earth :).
Scenario's Choice
Scenario decided to award this price to Elfre.
Scenario:
"When presented with a contest with no restrictions, imaginations can run wild – and there were certainly many very wildly imaginative houses on display for this round of Housing Week in Middle-earth. The most successful houses in this round, for me, were the ones that exercised restraint in their designs. These designs emphasized clear sight lines across the property to really allow certain aspects to act as focal points, welcoming visitors and leading them through the property visually.
My favorites:
Nokuzidis created a very simple and rustic farm and home that I can imagine an extended family of Holbytlan bustling about in. It’s super cozy! One of the most impressive features is the main entrance. I often see people using structures to hide the entrance to the smial, but Nokuzidis’ use of the barn is easily on of the best takes on that that I’ve seen to date.
The gardens, both inside and out of Moskin’s entrance are beautiful and lush. It feels like stepping into a public garden or an estate-turned-park with outbuildings dotted around. Inside is densely decorated with nice touches such as using rubble as steppingstones along the grass floor.
Elrandor’s home is one of the most transformative (and evil looking) spaces I’ve seen. And as Halloween approaches, it feels like a great space to host a party or haunted house! At times it feels like walking into Isengard or Angmar – especially with the iron greenhouses forming a tense walkway to the entrance of the house.
The Winner:
Elfre’s Umbar-by-way-of-Belfalas wins this round for me. They leaned into the Umbar theme and did a great job of transforming their Gondorian home into something Harmelak herself would be happy to move into. The landscape takes advantage of the new scenery items without being overwhelming and difficult to navigate through. Inside, the Umbari floor and wall surfaces work very naturally with the space. All of the decorations work – they don’t feel odd or out of place. I particularly liked the study with all the various artwork featuring the Kindred of the Coin!
The rewards :
- #1 - Sylhouette - 1000 LotRO Points + Best House in the Neighborhood Trophy
- #2 - Wilwerin - 500 LotRO Points + Best House in the Neighborhood Trophy
- #3 - Elrandor - 500 LotRO Points + Best House in the Neighborhood Trophy
- Scenario's Choice: Elfre - 500 LotRO Points
- 4th to 10th places: Aenhir, Moskin, Iorla, Truk, TweediaBlue, Elfre, Apricot - Best House in the Neighborhood Trophy
You'll receive your rewards tomorrow!
And so end this edition of Housing Week in Middle Earth.
Thanks everyone !
