On your marks, get set, GO!

Today, now that a few weeks have passed since the competition opened, I am pleased to share my selection with you.

It was with great pleasure that I discovered each of your creations to be more original than the last! Right now, I want to congratulate everybody. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us and thank you for taking the time to imagine all this. Bravo!

I, therefore, in my best conscience selected 14 creations that I most prefer.

Here we go:

#1 – Aenhir

Creator’s description:
"I have traveled many roads, and I have witnessed great wonders, from the glowing caverns of Aglarond beneath the silver grey mountains, to the golden domes of Lothlorien in the glad light of the fairest dawn.
But nothing I saw came close to the poignant beauty of the dreamy terraces and gardens of Irmö, in the Blessed Realm of Valinor."

#2 - Elrandor

Creator’s description:
"Well, you know the story: Mountains with precious ores in abundance attract Dwarves. There, they establish mines and strongholds. They work relentlessly for many years, becoming increasingly wealthy. But such is the doom of Aulë’s children that their lust for gold and jewels will ultimately cause their downfall. For they share that greed with dragons (or they dig too deep)."

#3 - Emretnuh

Creator’s description:
"But soft, what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east and Juliet is the sun!
– Romeo and Juliet"

#4 - Gil

Creator’s description:
"The Great Dwarven Throne of Aglarond, The Glittering Caves. Due to the great friendship forged between King Eomer of Rohan and Gimli, the Dwarves established a great colony in the fourth age. Naturally, Gimli incorporated a number of Rohan’s heritage pieces into his throne, including great horns modeled after the Horn of Helm Hammerhand that magnified the musical tinkling sound of the water that Gimli so loved, as well as the shield that he was given from the late King Theoden before the Battle of Helm’s Deep, which hung behind the seat in which Gimli’s son sat. A similar shield, that which was born by King Eomer, was gifted to Gimli for the seat to the left of his throne upon Eomer’s passing, in which Gimli was asked to sound the Horn of Helm Hammerhand during the ceremony.."

#5 - Katherine

Creator’s description:
"I designed a little lofted study area for Bingo and Willem Whisker. Bingo and visitors can comfortably chat and munch on snacks in the warmth of the upstairs portion. There’s even a tapped keg ready to facilitate conversations. Bingo often refers to the map as he tells his stories to friends and neighbors on chilly evenings around the fire.

Willem (and family) use the lower portion of the loft for rest and play while visiting Bingo. The lynx kittens often travel up the stairs to tease Bingo’s house cat and pretend to ambush the pheasant decor on the wall. Bingo pretends not to mind but he worries that the bird will be missing feathers one of these days."

#6 - Kolkil

Creator’s description:
"A nice shelf with all the space you need to store your things."

#7 - Mailaran

Creator’s description:
"Dragon’s treasure. Don’t wake up the dragon"

#8 - Meglaith

Creator’s description:
"While I love the Erebor housing, the outside isn’t very garden-like. And Gundabad shows that dwarves do like their gardens. I wanted to create an indoor terraced garden, with strange plants and crystals to make it more dwarven. There are benches for sitting and enjoying the view, as well as grass on every level, using grass decorative floors. Plus a stone walkway with tile decorative floors. And no dwarven garden is complete without a large statue. "

#9 - Moskin

Creator’s description:
"Desiring a little taste of the elven tradition?
Tired of waiting for SSG to give us Lothlorien housing?
Take matters into your own hands and make your own treehouse! The weather’s never poor and your spirit’s bound to soar!"

#10 - Numendur

Creator’s description:
"I have called it “Annon Erain”, the Gate of the Kings."

#11 - Solidarity

Creator’s description:
"Middle-earth unites to end Sauron’s path of destruction."

#12 - Tres

Creator’s description:
"The Stage at the Fox & Fiddle Dinner Theatre.

The Thespians of Toadley Village in the Shire enjoy putting on community theatre productions. Their next production is Tales of the Dwarves, an exciting anthology of dwarves, dragons, and adventure.

In the photos, you can see the stage with the play in rehearsal. Stage left and stage right are where the actors enter and exit. Stage right, you can see the director with the script, in case any of the actors forget their lines. The audience will sit on the benches in front of the stage."

#13 - Vanimere

Creator’s description:
"Sometimes the water spirits at the serve of Ulmo, come visit Vanimere’s house, to relax at this humble space."

#14 - Vulpex

Creator’s description:
"Relaxing in the Light"
