Contests Housing Week Contest #11 Housing Week in Middle-Earth News

You’ve waited patiently and here they are !

After a week and a half of visits and votes, it is time to present the results of the 11th edition of Housing Week in Middle Earth !

Again I would like to thank all of the participants for this competition. Whether you were chosen for the final round or not, I hope you decide to participate again in future contests.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my wonderful members of the jury who have accompanied me for this contest, again ! :).

I gathered all the data and there were a total of 121 in the ballot box. Congratulations and thank you again !

As a reminder, the final score for each house is obtained by the average weighted score of the public (70%) and the jury (30%). The jury, alone, designates the winner of the Jury Prize: "Host of Middle-earth".

The results

Without further ado, here are the top five :

#5 : Frostbluff Brewers

Audience average: 6.19 - Jury average: 7.38 - Final score: 6.78

"There is nothing I find more beautiful than a flower garden in a dwarf atmosphere.

The interior is also very particular, for a bucolic atmosphere really very successful! The mix of walls and floors is very harmonious, and the many flowers (floor, planters, hanging plants) really give a unique atmosphere to this house! I also love the "more dwarf" room upstairs, again the gold/purple mix is very well done.

A very nice dwarf house, congratulations!"

"A surprising ,very bucolic decoration, and rather successful in its kind.
Beautiful garden, well laid out to welcome visitors with colors that go well with each other and with the area."

 #4 - Order of the Silver Lily’s

Audience average: 6.96 - Jury average: 7.38 - Final score: 7.17

"Nice and pleasant garden.

The entrance of the house is very nice (fireplace + paintings)! Special mention to the garden / pantry very successful, I also appreciated the pond under the stairs, very nice."

"The charm of this house is undoubtedly its entrance! The combination of floor and wall is also amazing. A very nice achievement."

# 3 - Seekers of Invisible Walls

Audience average: 7.63 - Jury average: 7.75 - Final score: 7.70

"A very realistic garden.

A very original dwarf house! The atmosphere is very well rendered, full of ingenious little finds (square central table, dwarf statues on the pillars), special mention to the dwarf heads and its lever, bravo! The whole is very rich, extremely well decorated, I was stunned by the imposing rendering and worthy of the greatest dwarf lords!
Good ideas also in the second room with the breaking of the angles (vandassar + dwarf door) and the numerous armors which nobly decorate the global rendering. Bravo !"

"A very pretty dwarf house, the covering of the pillars, the arrangement of the statues with the lever placed nearby, the lighting effects make it a success."

"A pretty neat dwarf house. Nothing is missing and every deco item fit in this themed house."

#2 - Council of Elven Lords

Audience average: 7.149 - Jury average: 8.5 - Final score: 7.82

"A very beautiful garden which knows how to please me with trees and statues!

I'm not usually very fond of elven houses, but this one is simply my favorite of this session of the contest! The atmosphere is extremely well done and mastered, with a very good use of ambient lights, especially in the library, you feel like at home, you can almost hear Bilbo slowly turning the pages of his book. There are also very good ideas of decoration, in particular the use of tapestries in the entrance which fill the walls warmly, or the fact of having closed the room of the top to load the small cosy living room.
The main room is very well done, very well cut with the bookcases, the small reading areas, the fireplaces... The sense of detail even goes as far as discovering a certain hidden book, what a good idea when you like to click everywhere and interact with each piece of furniture!
In short, a great success that this elven house, congratulations!"

"I really like the large study room, with these large bookcases which manage to give a unusual volume to the room. "

"A really pretty house, from the entrance with the tapestries cleverly arranged on the walls, to the main room where the library has been nicely created with several decorations. The whole is carried by a work on the lights which highlights the work done on the house. My favorite !"

#1 - La Maison Durefer

Audience average: 7.152 - Jury average: 8.5 - Final score: 7.83

"A very pleasant house to visit, well done with well defined spaces. The secret room overlooking the Palantir is interesting!"

"A garden in several parts, my preference obviously goes to the tree part 😀 Special mention to the association of the Crimson Tree and the Pukelman which is for me the quintescence of the landscape art !

Overall a very successful house, with notably the library section where the furniture is ingeniously superimposed for a really lively rendering (vase, scrolls, etc.). The banquet room is also very nice, I really like the rohirrim/purple mix, it looks very good ! The round table in the upper room always looks good ;)"

"It's beautiful, a nice balance between decorations, staging, trophies and crafts. While mixing styles in a beautiful harmony. I'm on the verge of giving this one a 10 !
A grandiose garden as often seen on the islands."

"A great house with an awesome Throne Room at the end. Congratulations!"

I extend my congratulations to the winners of the 11th Housing Week in Middle Earth :).

Jury Prize

Finally, the Jury Prize, which goes to the home with the most beautiful yard.

We decided to award this prize to Frostbluff Brewers (2 Points).

"My favorite garden ! There is nothing I find more beautiful than a flower garden in a dwarf atmosphere. And here, what a garden! The subdued atmosphere is enhanced by the two crystals of Moria, and the colors blend very well with each other for a beautiful orange-crepuscular rendering! Bravo!"

"It's not always easy to decorate yards in Thorin's Hall Homesteads. But this one is just perfect with colors, and very simple deco items put in the right place. Congrats'!"

The rewards :

You'll receive your rewards later today !

And so end this edition of Housing Week in Middle Earth.

Thanks everyone !
