A ninth candle for the Middle-earth decorator’s magazine!
On August 12th, D&Co du Milieu celebrated its 9th anniversary!
That’s nine years of contests, decoration updates, and all the latest news about LotRO Housing.
This year, I won’t be running a dedicated anniversary contest (I’m still late on the X Creator one — but don’t worry, it’s on its way!).
So today’s post will be a little shorter than in past years… but don’t skip it, there’s still an important little announcement hidden inside.
Let’s start buy taking a look back at the 2024–2025 Season.
Contests & Updates
This season saw fewer contests than usual, mostly thanks to the long server migrations that lasted for months. Launching an event while so many of you were busy moving houses didn’t seem like the best idea.
On top of that, real-life work kept me busier than usual, and well… that didn’t help keep things lively either!
Still, the site kept moving forward with plenty of updates - fixing bugs, adding new features, and of course expanding the decoration database with hundreds of new entries.
(Reminder: you can always support D&Co du Milieu through the BuyMeACoffee app — every bit of help makes a difference!)
A few numbers
Here are some stats for the past year (from 08/01/24 to 07/31/25):
- 497,000 visits this year (vs. 330,000 last year) — a new record!
- 65,000 unique visitors explored the site
- 9,000 LotRO Points awarded in contests (11,000 last year)
- 3,916 decorations listed (456 new this year)
- 143 registered profiles on the site (+35 this year)
- 887 members on the D&Co du Milieu Discord (+110)
And just so you know - the new Farmer’s Faire decorations will be added later today or tomorrow, and I’ll finally catch up on the music section (I’m about six months behind… oops!).
Mark Your Calendars: Annual Q&A
Before we blow out this 9th candle (and save the big celebration for next year’s 10th!), here’s the big news:
Our annual Q&A will take place on August 29th at 2PM (tentative date) server time on the D&Co du Milieu Discord with members of the LotRO dev team (as always, Scenario and friends).
I’ll post a proper announcement with all the details soon.

Happy 9th anniversary!
On D&Co du Milieu’s ninth year we raise our cheer, for Yao has held its vision clear, gathering treasures great and small and weaving wondrous images and tales that glimmer like starlight along twisting paths, guiding every wanderer to shape their homes into havens of joy and wonder, so thank you Yao for all you have done, and may the stars above watch over your steps and the silver light of Earendil guide you ever onward.
